FERRARA ART FESTIVAL

Ferrara si accenderà dei colori dell’arte contemporanea grazie al “Ferrara Art Festival 2014”. Dal 24 Maggio al 5 Ottobre prossimi, infatti, il medioevale Palazzo della Racchetta di Ferrara ospiterà le opere di oltre ottanta artisti contemporanei, in un festival che indagherà e cercherà di dare risposte concrete sul tema, non certo semplice, di una costante rinnovata tradizione nell’avanguardia.
Curato da Virgilio Patarini per Zamenhof Art, il “Ferrara Art Festival 2014” vedrà ben 24 mostre avvicendarsi negli spazi del palazzo che, da circa un triennio, è stato restituito alla città grazie agli imponenti lavori di restauro e che ben si presta a divenire non solo contenitore di importanti rassegne d’arte, ma esso stesso protagonista.
Proprio in occasione del Festival, il Palazzo della Racchetta aprirà al pubblico nella sua interezza, incluso il grande salone all’ultimo piano, i due cortili interni e la terrazza al piano nobile, trasformandosi così in un unico grande Palazzo dell’Arte. Sarà dunque possibile vedere, nello stesso momento e nello stesso luogo, quattro mostre e alcune grandi installazioni negli spazi all’aperto. Simultaneamente.
Il Festival sarà inoltre corredato da un poderoso e prestigioso catalogo di oltre 500 pagine pubblicato e distribuito in tutta Italia dall’Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori. Il volume sarà presentato nel corso della seconda parte del Festival.
Art Re-Generation
Simultaneità di tradizione e innovazione, di generazioni e di modi simili ma anche differenti di fare arte saranno i protagonisti di questo “Ferrara Art Festival 2014” che avrà come sottotitolo “Art Re-Generation” e che sarà dedicato alla memoria di Riccardo Licata, grande pittore e mosaicista scomparso poche settimane fa; un riferimento non solo alle tante e differenti generazioni che contribuiranno con le proprie opere a fare del Ferrara Art Festival 2014 un unicum per varietà e stimoli, ma anche alla generazione intesa come genesi del saper fare arte. Un festival, quello ferrarese, che prosegue idealmente un percorso critico e curatoriale iniziato da diversi anni in Italia da parte degli organizzatori ed ora divenuto vero e proprio tema di ricerca quanto mai presente: quello di una “Koinè”, una lingua comune, una sintesi articolata, un minimo comun denominatore dell’Arte Contemporanea, in cui si faccia tesoro del retaggio delle Grandi Avanguardie del secolo scorso e della fine di quello precedente.
Un festival internazionale
In questo non appaiono come scelte casuali gli artisti internazionali presenti, facenti per la gran parte base a Parigi (tra le capitali dell’arte contemporanea quella che ancora sente forte l’influenza della pittura e della scultura, e città in cui lo stesso Patarini ,da quattro anni, espone al Grand Palais nella sezione Installazioni libere al Salon Comparaisons); né appare come altrettanto casuale la città in cui il festival è ospitato: la Ferrara avanguardista nel Rinascimento e culla della nascita della Metafisica che, tra le avanguardie, è stata quella che più ha perseguito un ritorno alla «Bella Pittura» e il recupero della grande tradizione pittorica italiana sia dal punto di vista tecnico che compositivo. Dimostrando che è possibile coniugare tradizione e contemporaneità.
Gli eventi collaterali e il contest Instagram
Non mancheranno, inoltre, gli eventi collaterali: reading, spettacoli, concerti, presentazioni di libri; insomma, una serie di autentici momenti di condivisione che, ogni giovedì, da metà giugno a fine luglio, non potranno che arricchire di suggestioni il già ricco cartellone del festival.
Ferrara Art Festival 2014 diviene anche un contest Instagram; scattando, infatti, fotografie con il proprio cellulare ed utilizzando l’hashtag #artfe, i visitatori potranno vedere i propri scatti pubblicati in una speciale sezione del sito web della manifestazione. Un motivo in più per visitare e condividere sui social network il ricchissimo festival ferrarese.
Tutte le mostre e gli eventi collaterali saranno ad ingresso libero.

Owing to “Ferrara Art Festival 2014” this city will flame up by the colors of contemporary art. From 24 of May until October 5 the medieval palace of Ferrara Palazzo della Racchetta will hold the artworks of more than eighty contemporary artists in only one festival, that will investigate and will try to give practical answers on the difficult issue of the constantly renewed avant-garde tradition.
“Ferrara Art Festival 2014” curated by Virgilio Patarini for Zamnehof Art, will include 24 art exhibitions alternating in the space of the palace, that for about three years, thanks to the impressive restoration work, is returned to the city and is perfect to become not only a container of important exhibitions of art, but itself protagonist as well.
In occasion of the Festival, the palace Palazzo della Racchetta will be open for public in its entirety, including the great hall on the top floor, the two internal courtyards and terrace on the first floor, becoming in this way one great Palace of Art. . It will be possible to see, at the same time and same place, up to four exhibitions and some installations placed in the open spaces of the palace. Simultaneously.
The Festival will be also supplied by a powerful and prestigious catalog of over 500 pages published and distributed in Italy by publishing house Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori. The book will be presented in the second part of the Festival.
Art Re-Generation
The simultaneity of tradition and innovation, of current and past generations and simultaneity of similar but also different ways of making art will be the protagonists of this "Ferrara Art Festival 2014" which will be subtitled "Art Re-Generation"; a reference not only to the many different generations, that will contribute their work to transform Ferrara art Festival 2014 into a single whole of stunning variety and incentives, but also a reference to the generation known as the origin of know-how of making art. Ferrara's festival, which passes extremely well a critical and curatorial path, for a few years was being formed in Italy by the curators and now it became an actual research topic than ever: that one of a "Koine", a common language, a structured overview, and finally the common denominator of Contemporary Art, that permits us to appreciate the heritage of the Great Avant-garde of the last century and the end of the previous one as well.
An international festival
The choice of the present international artists,being for the most part based in Paris, wasn't random,(between the capitals of contemporary art Paris still feels strong influence of painting and sculpture; it is the city in which Virgilio Patarini, for four years has exhibited his artworks at the Grand Palais in the section of Free Installations at Salon Comparaisons).
Neither the choice of the city, where the festival takes place, is random: the Renaissance and also avant-garde Ferrara is the birthplace of the Metaphysics that, among the avant-garde arts, was the most engaged in the return to "Beaux Arts" style (was modeled on classical "antiquities") and the revival of the great tradition of Italian painting from both points of view: technical as well as compositional. It confirms that it's still possible to combine tradition with present.
The related events and the contest on Instagram
There will be also some parallel events: readings, performances, concerts, books presentations, in short, plenty of unique moments, that every Thursday from mid June to the end of July will only variegate the program of the festival that is already rich.
Ferrara Art Festival 2014 has also created an Instagram contest. Shooting with mobile phones and using the hashtag #artfe, visitors could see their photos published in a special section on the website of the event. That is one more reason to visit and share on social networks the full of activities festival of Ferrara.
